Fair Agenda members take action on issues that are important to them. Whether calling for increased representation of women in decision making roles, championing measures that increase women’s safety in the home, or campaigning for equal pay – Fair Agenda members come together in critical moments to drive change on issues that bring us closer to a fair and equal future for women.

Fair Agenda members demand better from Australia's political representatives, business leaders and media through coordinated, targeted campaign tactics - from signing snap petitions, chipping in to fund high profile ads, meeting with decision-makers or using our power as consumers to affect positive change.

Fair Agenda is run by a small team of staff and volunteers.

The Founding Executive Director is Renee Carr who has acted in this capacity since the organisation's founding in late 2013.

Fair Agenda also has a Board that advises the staff team and is responsible for the organisation's governance and overseeing strategic direction. You can find out more about the team here.

But Fair Agenda’s impact is driven by our members – people who are involved in our campaigns and donate their time, money and voice to help campaign for a future where our gender doesn't determine our worth. Our members are ordinary Australians of all genders and ages, drawn from across the country and political spectrum.  

No. Fair Agenda is an independent campaigning organisation.

We advocate for policies and changes that help bring us closer to a fair and equal future for women. Our campaigns often focus on political issues, but our position is always driven by policy impact, not partisan politics.

No. Being a member of the Fair Agenda community does not mean you have to support every issue that we campaign on.

As a member, you have the option to 'opt-in' to support any campaign. For each campaign we run, we'll send an email to alert our members to the issue and the opportunity to take action. You can then elect to take part in those campaigns that you are passionate about.

Fair Agenda campaigns on issues that help bring us closer to a fair and equal future - one where women have the freedom, opportunity and security to fully participate and contribute to our society. We focus on helping our members have impact in key moments when issues affecting women are in the public spotlight.

Before our launch, we asked our members to tell us which issues they wanted to see on the agenda in 2014. Our members told us that the issues that mattered most to them were: increasing the representation of women in decision-making roles and the media; reducing gendered violence; and achieving pay equality. These priorities are a key reference point when we consider campaign opportunities.

Of course, there are many other important issues affecting women, and Fair Agenda takes great care in deciding which issues and campaigns to prioritise. We make these critical decisions based on where we believe we can have the most impact. At this stage, this means Fair Agenda's primary focus in on domestic campaigns here in Australia.

We see local issues as really important to helping achieve a fair and equal future for women. However, as we've only recently launched, we don't currently have the capacity to focus on local issues just yet. Part of Fair Agenda's vision is to help our members engage with local campaigns in the near future.

As an independent non-profit organisation, Fair Agenda doesn't accept donations that would compromise its independence, such as government funding or donations from political parties. 

Instead, we’re supported by the hundreds of Australians who have chipped in to help us launch, to fund specific campaigns or as regular core supporters.

More than 240 individuals chipped in to our crowdfunder to help get us off the ground. If you’d like to join them in supporting our work, you can do so here.

Like all advocacy organisations, Fair Agenda is required by law to disclose to the Australian Electoral Commission the identity of any donors who give over $11,200 in a financial year.

Since the very beginning, our team has been supported by an amazing and generous team of volunteers, who make everything possible, and ensure the money donated goes a long way.

Unfortunately donations made directly to Fair Agenda are not tax deductible.
